Flight Log of Ryanair Flight 9017 from Fes to Barcelona on February 14th, 2017

After ten days in the mayhem of Morocco (well, I mean the Medina parts), my friend and I were more than eager to get back to the civilized world of Barcelona.

So on this last afternoon in Morocco, we booked a (grand) taxi from our hotel manager that took us to the airport for 150 Dirhams. The taxi would take us through the newly-developed regions of the city of Fes, which wasn’t very much what we were used to seeing in Morocco.

It seemed that this Muslim country was very much serious about airport security, at least on the surface, as there were two police officers checking everyone’s IDs before entering the airport.

The airport of Fes was like the smallest airport I’ve ever been to, it’s even smaller than Chiang Rai airport in Northern Thailand.
At the airport we were required to fill out some departure cards. Yes, in line with the rest of Moroccan airports, no pens were provided.
Then we exchanged all our remaining Dirhams. No, I don’t think I would be visiting this country again in the foreseeable future. It’s hard to tell whether I liked this country or not, but there are so many other places around the world that’s on my to-visit list.

Then there were the passport control and security, which weren’t much faster than the sloths in Zootopia. Oh, they were worse than the sloths, it’s like they would look at the same passport page for half a day while doing nothing, then suddenly they woke up from hibernation and realized they’d got to stamp on that one and move on to the next.

There was a small prayer area upstairs. On that afternoon there were three planes of similar departure time, which was a little bit more than this tiny departure hall can handle.

The boarding was also chaos, as there were two or three simultaneous flights with multiple gate changes (they only had four gates in total).
Oh, and the bathrooms in the airport were tiny, way too tiny for three flights full of people as one can tell where they were by the lines.

I was sitting on a left-side window seat, with stunningly great views of the Fes Medina that my friend and I had roamed for the previous two days.

Nothing to much to talk about the flight, as the crew members seemed to be selling stuff al the flight, and me watching comics.

We landed in Barcelona Airport runway 02, which meant apart from the airport terminal itself, I didn’t catch any sights of the city of Barcelona with its checkerbox streets.

Since there were few international flights that landed at night into Terminal 1 of Barcelona Airport, there were anyone waiting at the immigration, and we cleared it really fast.
