It came quite to my surprise that there’re literally no people waiting at TSA security lines. Perhaps after all the major news channels blasting TSA for their long lines, they really brought changes.

American Airlines Fleet in Chicago O’Hare, right after security check.

The good thing about US airport is that, the distance between taxi drop-off and boarding gates is really short, at least for O’Hare Terminal 3. This makes it easy for both business travelers and gun-wielding terrorists.

Since we still had time to kill, we went to McDonald’s for lunch, then sat near our boarding gate for hours. The American Airlines narrow-body regional jets were hardly as interesting as the wide-bodies back in Beijing.

AA3627 should be my first flight on a Bombardier CRJ plane. I should be excited, but I guessed back then most of my excitement was due to the return of GPS signals rather than a new plane flown on.

American Eagle CRJ700(N513EG) At the Gate, this was after I had sat down on the plane to Syracuse.

As for service, main cabin was served by a robotic speechless black nanny. Not sure whether that’s efficient for a fan.
So to conclude, despite its insignificant size, Syracuse Hancock Airport definitely tried to inspire its travelers with some sort of aviation culture, and that’s great.

Since there’s a shuttle service waiting for us (and possibly other passengers) to Cornell, we wasted no time in getting out of the airport. Having met our driver who told us he would be waiting for someone on a later plane, and not having eaten anything since lunch (snacks on the plane doesn’t count), we tried to find some restaurant in the airport. The sad news is that, all the catering facilities of Syracuse Airport are inside security, (I guess this is the same for most US airports), which meant we later starved all the way to Ithaca.

This Machine Does Not Accept Coins, Although with a Coin Input

Delta CRJ900(N292PQ) At the Gate, shot over the fence

Lovely Sky from Syracuse Hancock Airport

It was blue sky all the way to Ithaca, much contrast to the air pollution of Beijing that I escaped from.
